What's a site-specific performance?

Site-specific performance is unbound by four walls. It is produced in various spaces outside the theater with the goal of interacting with these spaces, revealing their history or meaning(s). It also makes performance accessible to those who might not go to the theatre (Routledge Performance Archive, 2022).
