ELEMENTS - A Site-Specific Performance Festival

Us?
Oh, we're your favorite performer's favorite performers.
Ummmmm, What's Happening Under the Tent?
ELEMENTS – A Site-Specific Performance Festival, duh!
This festival is a celebration of interdisciplinary arts and elements of Historically Black College's and Universities through immersive installation, participatory experience, and pop-up performances.
The festival investigates the relationship between the elements of Earth (water, earth, air, and fire) and HBCU's: both non-commodifiable entities.

Each piece represents experiences relevant to students of Historically Black Colleges and Universities specifically Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University, and Morehouse College. The natural elements are showcased through dance, visual art, and performance.

This festival celebrates the AUC as a place that helps Black people develop their identities while encouraging their presence.
The Beautiful People
We are students of the Division of the Arts Sophomore Seminar at Spelman College taught by Dr. Katie Schaag. It is a seminar-style course designed to bring together all majors in the Division of the Arts (Art & Visual Culture, Dance, Music, and Theater & Performance) to engage in dialogue and critical thinking related to contemporary art practices, technical innovations, and the creative economy. The seminar is a forum to support future collaborations for projects leading up to and including the final thesis project in the senior year.
